Your skin is your largest organ and it loves to drink in whatever you put on it (that's why medications are often dispensed via a skin patch).  Your skin needs products that are good
enough to eat!

Why Natural? At BTB we believe it's healthier, fun & more interesting to choose all- natural products for our bodies & homes.

There are plenty of all-natural options these days, aren't there?  Green & natural are definitely the trend these days, & are becoming more mainstream.  This is definitely a good thing!  Big businesses are catching on, & much progress is being made.  However, some companies are simply changing their marketing, rather than actually changing their products or habits.  It can be difficult to differentiate undue all-natural claims from truly all-natural products.  The easiest & fastest way to investigate a product claim is to read the ingredients.  Do you feel like you need a PhD in chemistry just to read the label?   Follow this link for the National Geographic's Green Guide Label Decoder.

What does BTB do to take a holistic approach to all-natural?  As well as choosing only the highest quality ingredients, we look for the most ethical options when selecting ingredients, packaging, printing, supplies & services.  We often buy local, work with other small businesses & not-for-profit organizations, and source fairly traded and/or organic email_logo.bmpwhen purchasing exotic oils & butters.  Our production studio is green-powered and our website is green-energy hosted.  The creator of BTB has a background in ecology & sustainability, which informs every aspect of the 234x60_com-green.gifbusiness.  BTB is committed to the health of people & the planet.

Visit SKIN DEEP: Cosmetic Safety Database.  This extensive database of products & ingredients allows you to search individual ingredients or your favorite brands to access the latest data on the safety of their ingredients. naturalseal_half.jpg

The Natural Ingredient Resource Centre is another amazing resource.  Here you can see how a lack of regulation has led to a grassroots movement to bring meaning to all-natural claims.  The NIRC is creating & upholding standards for "all-natural."

 - "In conclusion, whatever the indication, there is a plant containing the right chemical portfolio and proven ethnopharmaceutical history to meet the need."

For more on ingredients to avoid, see this Organic Consumers Association article: Ten Synthetic Cosmetic Ingredients to Avoid, Aubrey Hampton.
 - "Look for natural ingredients in the products you buy. Do not use cosmetics that are artificially colored. Is the shampoo bright green or blue? Very likely it contains a coal tar color. Does the product contain synthetic fragrances? Don't buy it. You may find that some of your allergy problems will suddenly disappear when you no longer use cosmetics formulated with petrochemicals and other synthetics."
